Law and Order Svu Post Mortem Blues Recap

Oh my God, yes, this whole Lewis thing has finally begun. I hated it from the beginning because it damaged a lot in addition to the relationships between the detective. That being said, the post-mortem blues was a good episode, but very focused on Benson – what a surprise! When I knew that it would be mainly Benson`s trial and its aftermath, not a real case, I hoped that there would also be a clarification, perhaps in the sense of the tension between the detectives as well as the clues that said Amaro had a “trick” for Rollins. But instead, he made a very immature and nasty comment about Rollins` trust in Murphy. And her reaction really made me gasp because we know Rollins as a tough cop who is not afraid to say what she thinks in a very direct way with fire in her eyes, especially with Amaro, with whom she has had many “discussions” in the past. But at this point, everything that came out of his mouth came a desperate and more or less weak “c`mon”. I mean, honestly, Rollins is my favorite character and I know what happened in Gambler`s Fallacy wasn`t easy, but she should still have the ability to be tough according to her character built that way. And Amaro should really pull himself together, he`s been very rude lately and still seems to be under tension and stress. I just hope we have the chance to see some good, reassuring changes before the end of the season. Sergeant Murphy advises all UVS detectives to tell the truth. But when it looks like Olivia is going to fall, Murphy perjures the grand jury — he says he ordered Olivia`s televised “confession” for beating Lewis last week — to save her. The dumbest part of the episode was the crazy judge in Lewis` trial, who testified before the grand jury about how she felt about Olivia.

This was completely unacceptable. When the DA needed evidence of Lewis` trial, he simply read the transcript in the transcript. The justice system does everything it can to avoid questioning a jury`s feelings after the verdict. Besides, it was the woman who fell in love with Lewis, baked him the poisoned cupcakes and helped him escape! A prosecutor should hand over evidence of such massive bias to the grand jury. And shouldn`t Miss Frizzy herself be accused of aiding and abetting Lewis? Excellent points as always, James! And thank you for posting about the Paroline decision. Be careful, or I might ask you to write a guest blog. 🙂 With that, Benson announces that she will prepare her retirement papers to guarantee her pension if the jury indicts her. She finally manages to relax as the grand jury proceeds to Murphy`s testimony. Strauss repeatedly directs the interrogation towards Benson`s violent tendencies, but Murphy never bites. In fact, he reveals that he ordered Benson to admit perjury to lure Lewis — and he gives a fiery speech about Lewis` psychotic past.

It`s about the jury and they refuse to charge Benson. She thanks Murphy for his support, even though he managed to spread the truth. He corrects them – there were two truths, one small and one big, and he said the big one. I rewatched this episode for the first time in years and there were so many holes in the plot that I had to find a discussion 😂 about the blood splatters, which were all over Benson. In order for her to shoot him, she would have had to reach out and shoot him with her arm stretched out on the opposite side. How did forensic science not prove this? Why was the jury that helped him escape allowed to testify before the grand jury? She should have been arrested. Immediately after his escape, he killed and raped several people. It was as if they were downplaying his actions.

He had literally killed several people, including the doctor, raped his teenage daughter, kidnapped her youngest child and threatened to rape her shortly before her death. There were definitely some emotional points, but the writing was pretty bad overall. Good informative and interesting blog post. I really liked this episode. I love CSR`s court cases and the “behind the scenes” police conversations here felt authentic. This series did a good job of creating tension and being dramatic without the need for (a lot) of blood or violence. Strauss interrupts him and Murphy says he has more information than they need to hear. A grand juror says he wants to know what he meant. Strauss tries to turn it off. The juror insists. Murphy says he ordered Benson to make the public confession to attract the weasel. He tells them that she has performed an act of bravery.

He tells them that Lewis raped old ladies and little girls. He says Strauss never mentioned Lewis`s barbaric nature and all the people he killed. Murphy tells them that thanks to Benson, he won`t hurt anyone anymore unless they allow Lewis to exert his power over them. Murphy then testified. Strauss asks Benson for his orders. Murphy says he trusted his judgment. He says he was informed shortly after that she left her details, and that he believes she did the right thing. He says they followed her as backup, not because he thinks she was there to hurt him. Strauss questions Benson`s credibility. Olivia refuses to accept this and plans to retire from the NYPD first and save her pension, but SVU`s temporary commander, Lt. Declan Murphy, manages to convince the grand jury that Olivia lied about her orders at the press conference to lure Lewis, and also invokes Lewis` psychotic past to further convince her that Olivia is innocent.

The grand jury was emotional and refused to indict Benson, resulting in Lewis` final match against Benson, rendering them futile for his death. He would burn in hell for eternity, while Olivia could go on with her life and be reinstated as commander of her SVU force. Murphy for all his help. In the last episode, the sadistic William Lewis (writer) escaped from prison and killed arbitrarily. Out of concern for Benson`s safety, she was assigned to a 24/7 security guard, but it doesn`t take long for Lewis to get her back to where he left off. As time passed, Benson had to decide how much she was willing to sacrifice to save a child`s life. Have you seen the last episode? We have done so and we have a complete and detailed summary, here for you. A shot rang out, the girls screamed and the cops rushed in. Benson is splattered with blood and tells them he wanted to shoot them. They tell him not to say another word, and they take the girl and Benson out so they can set up the stage.

Benson is loaded into a car by Lieutenant Murphy, who tells her that she is going to the hospital but that she must not speak to anyone until her union representative shows up. He tells her that she has done good. Olivia is sitting at her desk in the compound when Murphy walks in and calls her into his office. She closes her laptop and follows him. She asks what the problem is and he asks why she is there. She closes the door and says she`s working on it. He told her that they had agreed that she would take time off to recover. She says she`s better at work. They ask Amaro if it is possible that Benson shot them. Amara says that on her way to the hospital, she spontaneously admitted that Lewis had committed suicide.

Tucker says she`s not a reliable witness and Amaro says she didn`t shoot him and they don`t tie her to her. This episode also gave hope in the short term that Donal Logue will stay longer. Logue`s Declan Murphy is probably the best addition to the series since Adam Beach`s Chester Lake days. Logue is direct, passionate and has a penchant for drama, something SVU has sorely missed since Christopher Meloni`s departure. Throughout the episode, you hoped he would mention that he would stay, and in the end, it looks like he will. I wish we could take CSR decorators to real courthouses. The room at the IAB white on white looked like it came straight out of Star Trek, and the Brooklyn Grand Jury was impeccable. In real life, these rooms are usually a conglomerate of mismatched formica furniture, putty-colored filing cabinets, and walls so scuffy that pure beige stains stand out. Whenever a suspect is killed during police operations, officers are examined. As heroic or reprehensible as it may have been, the system cannot simply take the agent`s word for it. This episode realistically showed that some officers were willing to lie to protect their own, but other officers insisted on telling the truth, the consequences were damned. And it showed the complicated character of the new man, Murphy, who wanted both his officers to be honest but willing to tell “the greatest truth” about Olivia`s heroism in order to save her.

1. I`d love to see Lieutenant Murphy`s character stay.2. I`m glad the Lewis saga is over.3. Amaro is supposed to pull himself together and be the vivid and intuitive cop of season 13 again. Super critic Chris! Especially love “Even the always pungent Lt.
