Founded in 1967, the Northern Kentucky Legal Aid Society merged with Northeast Kentucky Legal Services in 1997 to serve 4 urban and 19 rural counties with offices in Covington, Morehead and Ashland. In 2002, this organization merged with Central Kentucky Legal Services in Lexington to form Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, which serves 33 counties. Our mission is to address key issues facing low-income and other vulnerable people by providing quality legal assistance through direct representation, education, advice, advocacy, and coordination with other community resources. We serve low-income families with children, seniors, veterans and those who need access to health care. Our clients are frail and elderly residents of nursing homes, people who are abused by a loved one, people with barriers to employment, people who are financially exploited and people who lack the basic necessities of life. Become a volunteer to help our clients with their civil law issues. Sort of disappointed because they never help that people with Social Security income are forced to pay child support Our four offices are located in our service area. I want to know if there is legal aid to help me set up a qualified income trust for my mother. I`m going to file a few more paperwork with Medicaid next week and then have to show that I also have the QIT setup before they review the Medicaid waiver request. How much would that service cost? Thank you, Betty Downing You can have a personal and lasting impact on the poor and vulnerable in our community.
