Jean-Baptiste said she hopes to open another dispensary in Boston and also wants to launch a cannabis delivery service. Legal Greens opens Sunday as the first recreational cannabis store run by black women on the East Coast, said Jean-Baptiste, a Brockton native and first-generation Haitian-American. And Jean-Baptiste, along with co-owner Mark Bouquet, are the first Haitian-Americans to open a pharmacy in the United States, she said. Legal Greens Pharmacy in Brockton is truly a one-stop shop. After obtaining an HCA, Jean-Baptiste helped through the licensing process as she had priority status as an economic empowerment candidate with the CCC. Prior to the Legal Greens renovations, the site was a commercial building owned by Fred Fontaine, a longtime Haitian activist near Brockton. Legal Greens has approximately 15 employees, most of whom are residents of Brockton.
