Sea duck zone and duck boundaries In this zone: The sea duck zone is the body of water in the Atlantic Ocean separated from coasts, islands or emerging vegetation by at least one mile of open water. In all regions, the limit of sea ducks is 4 with no more than 3 ducks, 3 eiders (only 1 hen) or 3 long-tailed ducks. Shooting crippled waterfowl from a vessel under engine power in the sea duck area is allowed. * These are legal hunting seasons for migratory game (duck, goose, coot, snipe, snipe pigeon and bar-tailed pigeon); highland birds (pheasant, quail, partridge); and Turkey during the set seasons. Duck blinds – It is illegal to hunt within 30 metres of a permanently blind person on Miccosukee Lake and Iamonia, Jackson and Carr Lakes. The use of temporary duck blinds, including those made of vegetation and removed at the end of each hunt, is allowed. Extended falconry season: Falconry is a licensed way to capture ducks, coots, and harenes in South Carolina. The extended falconry season runs from November 1, 2022 to November 18, 2022 and from December 1, 2022 to December 11, 2022. The daily limits for the capture and possession of these birds should not exceed 3 or 9 birds, individually or in total. Nationwide hunting seasons are half an hour before sunrise until sunset. ZONE B: All of Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, Jefferson, Wheeler, Deschutes and Crookcos. Special Rules for Leon County and Miccosukee Lake: Canada Goose Hunting Area: During the September 1-30 segment, Canada goose hunting is permitted across the country. During the remaining three sections, the hunting area excludes that part of Clarendon County bounded on the north by S-14-25; east by Route 260; and to the south by the markings that delimit the Santee River Canal. It also excludes that part of Clarendon County bounded on the north by S-14-26 and extends south to the portion of Orangeburg County bounded by Route #6. Illegal means and methodsNo one is allowed to take migratory game: National Youth Day: November 12, 2022 (Legal species: ducks, mergansers, coots). Only minors 17 years of age or younger are allowed to hunt, but they must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old and holds a full permit.
Juveniles aged 16 and 17 hunting on this day must have a migratory bird permit and a valid federal waterbird stamp. The daily and bag possession limits are the same as those indicated for the regular seasons. ZONE D: All from Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Grant, Baker, Harney and *Woe cos. Vessel Engine Restrictions – During the regular duck hunting season (November 19-27 and December 10 to January 29), the use of internal combustion engines is prohibited on Lake Iamonia (except with the permission of the General Manager) and Carr Lake. The use of internal combustion engines over 10 HP on Miccosukee Lake is also prohibited during these dates. However, internal combustion engines and airfoils can be used during duck season in September and during juvenile and veteran/military bird hunting days on these lakes.
